 What is meant by Guarantee or Warranty?

Both are form of assurance provided for any service, products or humans that it will be in good quality. It can be either assured service or replacement, assured life time of a product or assured performance of an human resource for work.



Differences between Guarantee and Warranty?

Warranty is the assurance provided in the written format for any product/service for a limited period of time. A good example, getting a warranty card for any electronic appliances that we purchase in our day to day life. Guarantee which is mostly of oral form, which is an promise made by a person that the product will perform at good quality or product lifespan will be good or service will be best. It need not always to be in written form. A good example, the product will last long for more than 3 years.

Usually warranty comes with the cost whereas guarantee comes for cost free.

Warranty is offered by retailers whereas Guarantees are offered by Manufacturers.

When it comes into picture?

Guarantee lies over the life span/usage time of the product, whereas warranty comes into picture once the product is repaired or needs to be replaced.

How does it works?

Warranty are more formal whereas Guarantee are less formal. Warranty works on Paper basis whereas Guarantee works on trust basis.
