Captcha
What is Captcha?
Captcha is a form of pictorial text which is used to verify the human usage of a website or app.
Why Captcha?
Machines can easily crack any website registration regardless of the difficulty and make hundreds to thousands of entries, so the actual checkpoint was made on the captcha to thrown it out and differentiate between human and computer usage on the website.
How does it works?
Actually this is a cat and rat game, over in initial days, it was hard for a computer to recognise the pictorial letters and words, and easy for human to process it, but later as the technology starts advancing, the machines can accurately recognise the pictorial letters like humans, so the captcha was picked in a different way of recognising specific set of object in a set of different images, where human will take some time to process it and submit the results whereas the machine can quickly recognise and submit the results quickly, so this was made as the differentiation factor in which if the images are processed fast, and submitted quickly, the site will throw back you to home page considering it as an computer/robot.
Where it helps?
Sometimes, this overall captcha process helps in scanning process of physical books to digital format, where some inputs in which machine find hard to process or recognise, those hard ones are captured and called out in website, the more results we submit will be collected altogether and the most common answer out of all, will be considered as the appropriate text answer for the specific hard pictorial input.
